Look for a triangle on your lamp it will either have an /E\ for external or an /I\ for internal ignitor.
If it is an I then you need a lamp with an internal ignitor, if an E then you need one with an external ignitor
The other way to check is if you can see the control gear for your lamp, look to see if there are 3 components, if there are only two then your lamp should have an internal ignitor. If there are three components then your lamp should not have an internal ignitor. The safest way to be sure is to look at the lamp itself however as we have come across exceptions to all rules!
It is important that you do not use a lamp that has an internal ignitor with control gear that also has an ignitor in it – the two ignitors will fight and the one in the lamp usually loses!
There is a very wide range of lamps styles in this range – we have tried to make it simple but if you are in any doubt please call us.
